Pick a Community College that meets all your needs…

There are some courses in community college that help when you want to go on to a larger school. Many of the credits are transferable, and that means you don’t have to start all over again should you go to another school. Your local community college may have some two year degrees that stand alone, but other courses are made to prepare you for other things. Once you have gone through a year of this type of college, you may find the time to discover what you want to do with your life, and you can then go from there.

Pick a career that will make you happy…

I did not understand what this career information would do for me, but I did learn a lot. Even more incredibly, it did help me in interviews. I knew more about where I was headed and what I wanted to do, and that did show through in the interviews.

It did take me a while longer to get the job I wanted, but there were no more comments about my enthusiasm. Most of the time it was simply a lack of experience that help me back. As it turned out, finding out career information in my field was one of the best things I could have done.

Don’t be afraid to continue your Education

Continuing education as an adult might be difficult but it is worth it…

Some are offered by colleges, and some are sanctioned by your local community, and may be funded. That could mean you could get these courses for little or no cost in some cases.

If your idea of adult education is going back to college, you should never let your age stop you. Even when you are in your fifties and sixties, you may be surprised to see that you are not the only one going back for some higher learning.
