Best First Credit Card

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

The best first credit card is the beginning step towards a lifetime of good credit. Apply for a low interest credit card and be very careful how and when you use it. The card is a reflection of you and not your parents so recognize the responsibility that goes with it.

I’m lucky that I have good credit, something I really owe lots of thanks to my mother and father, who not only guided me financially through my first credit card transaction, but also helped pay for my college tuition and generally kept me on the right path monetarily.

So while I’ve never earned a very large amount of money, I’ve also never accrued a particularly large amount of debt, either which in itself is a great thing. And what debt I’ve had in the past, I’ve been able to pay down very quickly and, if not easily, then to a manageable level.

So when the day came that I decided to start hunting around for the best first credit card out there, it was a fairly easy task to do. I made use of a bit of common sense and asked myself, exactly what would I be needing this line of credit for. When I finally made a decision on how I would be using this newly found financial vehicle, it simply boiled down to a bit of common sense and a lot of discipline, but I managed to get the hang of things quickly because my parents put me on the right path from the get go.

Why A Secured Charge Card Can Work Well

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Most of the time, the issue people experience is running into problems with their credit. This can be because of a situation through no fault of one’s own, or pure carelessness on the other hand. When this occurs, it will become very hard for them to get their credit ratings increase, and try to get financial loans, a home loan, or even just another credit card. A bad credit standing really is a negative aspect. Due to this fact, lending agencies besides other creditors are going to be worried to give you a chance to restore your credit rating. Nevertheless, it may possibly be avoided by relying on to options which can, with a little luck, make positive changes to financial disaster. You can do this with the aid of secured credit cards.

A secured bank credit card doesn’t differ much from your normal standard cards. It truly does work in the same manner, and equally efficiently. Nonetheless, there is still a few differences between the cards. To use such a card, the card holder is required to cash in a deposit to the credit card. This sum of money is a collateral security for the credit card company that this customer can still pay his or her bills, whether or not an unexpected emergency comes up.

Unfortunately there exists a disadvantage as well in case of using a secured credit card is the costs that pile up at some point. These expenses include the application cost, handling fee, annual fee, besides other extra fees. When you really need to go for it, make sure you keep from credit cards which will charge a high amount of extra fees. This often takes a domino effect on your deposit and, consequently, the credit limit.

Debt Elimination Services

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Many people in debt looking for an effective way of getting rid of their debt, seek out debt elimination services. The good debt elimination services can help you get back on your feet. The poor debt elimination services can drain your bank account of needed funds and leave you as bad off or worse than when you started.

Be especially wary of online websites that advertise questionable ways of disposing of your debts, mortgages, and so on. Many of these are simple scams to separate you from your money. They will charge huge upfront fees from which you will never receive any services.

And some go even further. They take your personal information and either sell it or use it themselves to perpetrate identity fraud.

College Student Credit Card Debt Growing

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Each year as students enter college, begin to buy their class books, clothes, furniture – and so on, more and more students are paying for their purchases with their credit cards. Almost two-thirds of college students have at least one card, 70 percent pay their own monthly bills and 24 percent have used their cards to help pay tuition.

For many young adults, college is their first taste of the real world. Until now, they’ve lived at home with their parents always nearby and around to look out for them. But now, for the first time without parental restrictions, they embark on the journey of discovering who they really are. As always, part of that self discovery needs funding. And the credit card companies waiting in the wings are more than willing to start the students off on the “right” foot by advancing them loans in the form of one or more credit cards.

Loans – Or Never Buy Anything You Can’t Pay Cash For!

Friday, November 14th, 2008

I was brought up in a home where every thing was bought with cash. If my parents didn’t have the money for something, we did without. The exception was when they bought their house, they did take out a mortgage. For everything else, it was cash. The idea of taking out a loan for anything was unheard of. .

This has not carried over to my family however, not because we disagree, but because it makes sense to take out loans, as long as you can repay them. Why? Because you then build a credit rating, which means you will be able to borrow money for a car, or a home, or any other big purchase, or in fact rent a home. You need a credit score and rating to show the banks and house owner you are a good risk when renting a home, even.

Credit cards off incentives too that are often too good to be ignored. But if you take out loans on your cards, you should try to pay them off as soon as possible, not least because you are probably paying a lot of interest. But the points offered with credit cards are quite impressive. One daughter has just used her points to pay down her student loan which is good, and we use our points for treats. As a result, loans are common, and there is great competition amongst the banks to offer the best deal.

Is Credit Repair Needed In Your Home?

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Financial times are tough. No matter how many hours we work, and how much income we bring in, there just isn’t enough money to go around to do every thing that we want to do. Is this a problem of our generation, or what?

I think there are far more homes that need credit repair than we know about. Although finances are talked about more than with previous generations, I don’t think friends realize the credit crisis some people have got themselves into, despite the best intentions. Credit cards have become more than a great convenience. They used to be just a way of paying for things all at once with one cheque, but now there are families that use the credit reserve on their cards to survive every week. It’s a hard cycle to get out of, since the ways to legitimately make money are limited, and there are only a certain number of hours in a week that you can work.

Still credit repair is possible, and debt consolidation can help replace lots of small bills with one large bill, usually at a better rate of interest, which means that the loan will be paid off earlier.
So, if you need credit repair in your home, go see about it now, and reduce your debt as fast as you can.

Credit Cards For Students?

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

When students enter college, they have a long list of things to deal with, including their finances. Student credit cards and application forms are typically sent to freshmen, so it is important that parents discuss the importance and responsibilities that go along with having a credit card before the students ever leave home. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s an extremely useful for students to have their own credit card when they go away to school, but it is equally important that they get the right card and use it wisely.

The best student credit cards are the ones that have low spending limits, ie low credit limits, because it does limit the student, at least to begin with. A high limit credit card could be too tempting for a student, and there is always the fear of a credit card getting into the wrong hands. It should be made clear to the students that their credit card is for emergency use only, unless they want to get a job and pay for any of the charges that are made on it themselves. That sounds like a good idea, but it probably isn’t very realistic.

What Makes It Easy to Get Credit Cards

Monday, September 15th, 2008

When credit cards were still new and classified to be for the elite who can pay, everybody was raving for it but could not have it. Then, it was like a status symbol. Now, credit cards are more like a trend and a necessity at the same time. It becomes a trend because almost everybody has his or her own card. It becomes a necessity because most retail stores, restaurants, and other shopping centers welcome the use of credit cards for purchases. So what makes it easy to get credit cards?

There are credit cards that banks refer to as easy to get credit cards. These are definitely easier to obtain and intended for no credit and bad credit clienteles. Can you imagine getting a credit card for only 30 or 30 minutes? However, like any credit card, there are still charges that you need to remind yourself when you find it attractive to get one. There are still existing interest fees, strict policies, and terms and conditions that rule out your use of the card. In some cases, interest charges may be albeit higher than other card holders of this type. This is due to some indicators that bank evaluates for their reference.

Easy to get credit cards may or may not be a pain in the ass for card holders; this actually depends on how card holders take serious responsibility on money matters. If you think you are a good financial manager in life, then credit cards should not be much of a worry.

Credit Cards Tips And Advice

A credit check is usually performed whenever someone is applying for any type of loan whether it’s a car loan, mortgage or a line of credit.

Many times, the best credit card offers are those with the lowest interest rates. You can indeed find interest free credit cards, but like always, there is commonly a catch. Increase the Limit on Your Credit Card

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

If you’ve got a credit card, perhaps you’ve thought that you would like to increase your line of credit. Many people do. If you have a higher credit card limit, you can make a higher amount of purchases, especially if you’re bumping up against your current credit limit. There are ways you can increase your credit limit, so that you can get a fair amount of credit.

First, to improve your credit limit, you have to improve your overall level of credit worthiness. Credit worthiness is a yardstick by which banks and lenders determine whether or not you can be trusted with credit and are a low risk. When these people look at your credit report, they first look at your credit worthiness.

Your activity can get a lot of positive attention when it comes to lenders with finance purchases. Pay them every now and then, but don’t go out of your way to make this a habit. Do this as a last resort when other things don’t increase your credit limit.
