Online Paid Survey — ClickIQ

Friday, August 14th, 2009

If you are looking for an online survey site where you can get to earn points for simply completing a survey, ClickIQ is right for you. You will get to earn a certain number of points (often around 50) once you completed a survey. Once you’ve joined the site, you will become an “E-visor,” and you’ll earn 100 points for joining the site, you won’t get points for referrals though.

ClickIQ is a feast or famine type of online survey site. Don’t expect to make a living but they are a legitimate survey website. You can find more information about this paid survey online in this great article at http://fastsurveymoney.org.

Microsoft Office or the Free OpenOffice?

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

As a small business owner I’m still plugging away with Microsoft Office XP (2002), and I was wondering if was worthwhile to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007 or look at another office suite.

I did find a great comparison of Microsoft Office and Open Office, available at openoffice.org, but I can’t go into too much detail here because it was laid out in a 10 minute video at HomeOfficeSmallBusiness.com

The video shows how the two office suites stack up head to head and the author generally recommends Open Office. He goes into the prices for Microsoft Office and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

He does recommend Microsoft Access for heavy database use and says that he’s heard good things about Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, but for small and home-based businesses he says Open Office will fit the bill.
