What advertising agencies to choose?

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Back in the day, ad agencies prided themselves on doing everything. The best ad agencies would write your white papers, come up with marketing and branding strategies for you, handle all of your public relations, and do anything else that you needed to make your brand successful.

Although there are many advertising agencies out there that still take this approach, the trend is towards more and more specialization within the ad business. Many marketing agencies aim to do just one thing, and to do it very well.

You should also think about what your emphasis is on. Some advertising agencies specialize in working with new companies to help them to get off the ground as far as brand identity goes.

Stationery for Business

Monday, August 31st, 2009

When my business wasn’t doing so well, I purchased Christmas stationery and printed up newsletters for all of my clients. I put recipes, games, and coupons in the newsletter and soon had people pouring in the doors. Of course, I was careful about my stationery choice. I read the article “Utilizing Holiday Stationery and Border Paper at Work and at Home” and it warned me that not everyone celebrates a Christian Christmas. Some celebrate with Santa, others celebrate with Jesus, and some don’t celebrate Christmas at all. Boy am I glad that I read that article before going to the store.

Hanging Signs

Monday, January 19th, 2009

When it comes to the trade show, you want to be noticed as much as possible. I remember the first year I went. My poor little booth was just like everyone else’s booth, making it impossible for people to remember me or my product. Ever since, I’ve realized how important it is to have colorful graphics, hanging displays, or pop up exhibits that really epitomize my products and services. Do you want to know the latest trend? Read the article “Signs for Your Trade Show Display” and find out about it for yourself. I’ll see you at the trade show!

Printing Our Own Business Cards

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

At our office, we try to save as much money as possible. After all, we are a non-profit. So, we do a lot of things ourselves. For instance, we print our own business cards. I read the article, “How to Design Your Own Business Cards” and got started almost immediately. I made cards for everyone in the office. But that’s just one example. We print our own Christmas stationery and letterhead as well. And it saves us quite a bit of money. Isn’t it great?

My Business Dinner

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

It was going to be the biggest business dinner of my adult life, and I was throwing it. My secretary had picked up a stack of invitation paper and was personalizing each envelope with calligraphy. I was working on getting my staff in the right place and the right time, sorting through table settings, and finalizing the menu for the caterer. I had everything completely under control. Well, I thought I did. When the night came, I went to pick up a stack of business cards to hand out and realized that I didn’t have any. Luckily, my secretary had read the article, “Basics in Designing Your Own Business Cards.” She had some temporary cards printed and ready in 20 minutes. I knew I had hired her for a reason.

The Ink Jet Printer

Friday, May 9th, 2008

What is an Inkjet printer?

Inkjet printers spray very small, precise amounts (usually a few picolitres ) of ink onto the media. These droplets of ink will carry a slight electrical charge. Inkjet printers and laser printers are the most popular printer types for home and business use. Dot matrix printer was popular in 70’s and 80’s but has been gradually replaced by inkjet printers for home use.

Inkjet printing has gained wide acceptance by consumers in the printing industry because it is fast in printing speed and is a relatively inexpensive form of printing and yet it produces high resolution printed images. The dot matrix printer is an impact type of printer in which each character or segment of a graphical image is comprised of a matrix of dots and blanks which together define the character.

Although Inkjets produce a much nicer and faster product than the older Dot Matrix, they are more costly to operate because of the price of ink refill and printer cartridges.

Financing of a South Dakota vacation guide

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

A group of people involved in the tourist industry wanted to increase business state wide so they decided to design a South Dakota vacation guide that would steer tourists towards their establishments. Within their ranks they had someone that had been involved in the publishing industry and another person who was a writer so they thought they had a good chance at pulling it off. Their one big problem was financing. This association had members all across the state with many of them having contacts with others in the industry in their area so they hatched a plan to place ads within the guide, using that revenue to get the publication made. Every member was to go to his or her contacts and sell them an ad. Their plan was for all the write ups to be about the association members attractions, with the ads of the competitors to be placed out of context. If the story was about an attraction in north west South Dakota, then the ads around the area would be for the south west part of the state. The plan succeeded in raising the money needed but backfired in what it wanted to accomplish. Readers of the publication tended to gravitate towards where the ads were rather than where the attractions were.

Custom Printed T-Shirt? A Powerful Weapon In Marketing? Yes!

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

That is when I realized the amount of advertising power that custom t shirts have. For some reason, they are really big in our culture. People love to dress down, and having a unique, custom t shirt is often the best way to do it. A lot of companies try to make their custom printed t shirt look serious and dignified, but this is a mistake. Make something quirky, something that stands out, and people will be wearing it for years to come. Check out the custom printed t-shirts link above for more info, offers and resources.

What are DocuColor Printers and Copiers

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

The DocuColor series of printers are printer/copier units made by Xerox. These machines are light production printers and are perfect for offices that print up to about 300k color sheets per month. Advanced features like booklet creation, load-while-run toner, high gloss toner, and in-line finishing set the DocuColor series apart from your average color business copier. There are a total of 5 different feeder and finisher addons, often with their own additional addons, which you can get for your DC 242/252/260 printer. The addon units are available for whichever version of the DocuColor you currently have, or are planning on purchasing.

In conclusion, the Xerox DocuColor printer and copiers are definately great color machines for any medium to large sized business and I totally recommend them.

Business Brochures & Time Management

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Think of your printing/advertising projects in short-term and long-term. You may want a completely new image for your company but you have to complete certain steps before reaching your goal. Here lays some of the greatest benefits of time management. You have a chance to focus on your long term goal of new company image while breaking down the steps to reaching this goal into smaller steps. Each day, we have the chance to complete things that bring us closer to our goals.

The trick is determining which things to accomplish first. Starting the project without a well-laid plan isn’t a workable approach. For example, selling the company’s new image will only succeed if all the earlier steps were taken to get the correct image and that it was tested for response before starting the full color printing jobs and rolling out the campaign.

Brochure Printing Cheap

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

I know there is a real need out there for brochure printing cheap.  All I really needed for a discount printing service was a high-end printer, a powerful computer, and some basic supplies like inkjet & glossy brochure paper. It cost me a few thousand dollars to get my brochure printing shop up and running. But, other than my initial investment, I knew that overhead would be pretty low. That is one of the great things about running a cheap brochure printing service as a business – your expenses are really reasonable. All I would need was ink, various paper stocks, and an occasional printer servicing. The costs would be proportional to how much business that I did, which meant that I would always be able to afford them.

An Article on inexpensive Brochure Printing

Looking for cheap color copies was like looking for a cheap luxury hotel either it wasn’t cheap or it wasn’t luxury.  The technology for producing cheap color copies has been around for some time now but the copy companies knew that they could still charge a fortune for brochure printing and have been.

Promoting events with brochures can cost about 60% less money than it used to if you use online brochure printing services.  But you have to make sure to fully compare prices and more importantly the quality of work they offer.
