When looking for a job, it’s necessary to buy newspapers, browse the web and register with agencies. All this is time consuming and takes up a lot of energy, especially if you already have a job and are looking for another one. It would help the process if companies thought about making the art of advertising jobs more user friendly. I have seen vacancies that don’t give information on payment. When I ring them to ask about this little detail, I am often told that this information cannot be given over the phone and I will be informed at the interview. I stopped going to these interviews because the wage turns out to be a joke. That’s why they don’t want to tell you in the first place.

So much rests in a decent job or career. Think about this for a moment. What is a job? It’s basically a daily chore that one has to do, five days a week, 8 hours a day. Then at the end of each week or every two weeks, one gets paid a regular sum of money. This is called an income. We use our incomes to survive in this modern-day world. Doesn’t that pretty much sum up the process? Now, what about a job title description? These are often not so clear. Just because your job description says “Video Store Sales Clerk,” doesn’t mean that this particular task is the only thing you’ll be doing. Chances are you will be doing a number of other chores other than renting out DVDs and videos. I should know; I did this for six years. One of the best ways to better understand jobs and what they entail is by getting online.

At the same time, they are some of the most conformist people in the world, so New York advertising can’t really appeal to a rebellious streak either. New York advertisements have to appear sophisticated, and making advertising appear sophisticated to New Yorkers is no small feat.

In fact, when one examines an organization, it can be easily seen that many examples of verbal and nonverbal behavior exist. Some communication specialists believe that these and almost all other forms of behavior are really means of communication and conversely that all forms of communication reflect the behavior of individuals. But, is this the case? Well, if nothing else, the fact remains that in every organization, communication occurs constantly.
People who are concerned with human communication do not focus on precisely what one says or writes, but on how the persons involved perceive and translate the message they send and receive.
