Who are Retirement Planners and What Do They Do?

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Everybody knows what retirement planners are and what they do, you say. Really? Are you sure? Consider this. The fact that you may have engaged several retirement planners already, or were thinking about it, does not mean you know what they do and what they are supposed to do. You might actually be having one in consultancy basis as we speak, and yet be unclear of what to expect from him or her. Even if you were to receive poor service, even if you were to be misadvised by your planner, even if you were exploited, you wouldn’t know it if you are unclear about retirement planners and their role. It is therefore imperative that you understand precisely who we call a retirement planner and what exactly they are able to do or should do.

A retirement planner is basically a financial planner whose main role is to assist clients craft their retirement plans and prepare adequately before that retirement ensues. Note, a planner does not plan for your retirement, rather he or she helps you plan that retirement. They help you establish a financial plan in which you can allocate adequate savings and investments to facilitate your dream retirement life.

As such, the primary duties of retirement planners include helping you make appropriate financial decisions like savings, investments and expenditure. Their job is to help you understand the specific consequences of all the financial decisions you make, help you see opportunities and thus allow you to make informed choices. No planner should make decisions for you. Every decision you make must be based on your needs, your income, your goals and your circumstances and this is what the planner helps you to focus on while planning for your retirement.

One of the central roles retirement planners have in your financial management is that they help you appreciate the risks involved in every financial plan you adopt. With the risks enumerated, you can easily minimize and control them to levels that do not jeopardize your financial future. Once you understand the role of a retirement planner, you are able to take your destiny in your own hands and to consciously determine how your retirement life plays out. Retirement planners must transform you from ignorance into a skillful financial manager, in your life at the very least. They are not supposed to make the best decisions for you, but help educate you enough to make those decisions yourself.

You also need to be able to grab what you need immediately without having to search on google or buy expensive books that you run forms off of.

Should I Refinance My Mortgage?

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

With interest rates lower than they have been in many years, many homeowners are asking themselves “Should I refinance my mortgage?” It is tempting to think that you can just go down to your local bank or make a few phone calls and presto, you will have saved a lot of money, but the cold reality is different. Because of the number of homeowners that are defaulting on bad loans and the proliferation of bad loans that were written in the past five years, banks and lending institutions have tightened credit. What this means to the general public is that lending requirements are much more stringent now than at any other time in history.

So the answer to the question “Should I refinance my mortgage?” may be yes, if you are actually qualified. To be certain that you are qualified you need to make certain of a few things first. Your FICO (Fair Isaac Company) credit score needs to be above 700 and preferably above 720 with no late payments on any debt within the last twelve months and no bankruptcies, foreclosures, or judgments on your credit history. Your employment needs to be steady and the longer the better. If you just started your job a few months ago, that can be alright as long as you have been employed in the same general field for a number of years.

If you are self-employed and are asking yourself should I refinance my mortgage, then you need to be prepared to show good earnings through the past two years of tax returns with all schedules attached, plus a current profit and loss statement prepared by a CPA.

The most important factor to consider when asking yourself should I refinance my mortgage is whether or not you have equity. Many homeowners these days find that they are upside-down on their mortgage loan and actually owe more than the property value will be appraised at. Banks will not want to loan on any property with an LTV (loan to value) ratio of more than 80% generally. With property values still declining around the country, banks will generally want to see a much lower LTV before they take the risk of refinancing your mortgage.

So if you are still asking yourself should I refinance my mortgage, you may want to consider the alternative of Loan Modification. Experts recommend that you find a reputable, professional company that specializes in Loan Modifications in order to get a lower interest rate that you can afford.

How To Avoid Covering Facial Wrinkles?

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

There’s a huge problem in the skincare as well as cosmetic makeup products industry. The issue is because of the manner the products address stuff like face wrinkles and other skin problems by masking or cover up, rather than fixing the the very cause the problem.

These are only momentary remedies, not actual long-term solutions to anti-aging. A lot of customers do not have enough information about the industry and just want a quick fix to help make themselves feel much better. The cosmetic market as a result takes on on this and produces products which are simply topical and tend not to go any more intense than that.

Defining Options Trading

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Options trading involves a contract between an option writer and an option buyer. An option contract serves to some extent as a form of protection for both the buyer and the seller. With options trading, an investor can buy a stock or a share at a low cost. Within a given time frame, an investor can sell his stocks at a much higher cost, thus generating an income from it. If the investor is able to foresee a decrease in the value of his stock, he can choose to sell his stock and exit the market in order to avoid massive loss. Thus, this protects an option investor from major loss.

Debt Collection Lawsuits and You

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Being the target of a debt collection lawsuit will compel you to go to court. You will be issued a summons as to when and where to appear. If you fail to show up for your court date, in most cases the court will summarily rule against you.

Once you show up for court, there are two possible outcomes.  One, you will be absolved of the debt and have to pay nothing. Or, two, the court will rule against you and you will be forced to pay the amount of the debt as well as all court costs that the creditor has incurred.

The court may also subject your salary to wage garnishment to ensure that the creditor is paid. If you fail to pay the court ordered amount, you may be subject to fines and possible jail time.

Q: But won’t I pay too much if I use a loan broker?
A: Sometimes you will pay a broker fee or origination points, but sometimes those fees are paid to the broker by the actual lender or investor as rebates for selling their product. Brokers get wholesale rates that many branches can’t match so even if the broker adds some margin to the rate in order to get a yield-spread premium rebate, you still end up getting a better rate.

Anti Aging Treatment Solutions With Face Serum?

Friday, April 16th, 2010

The very first substance that you ought to look at, in buying anti-aging treatment products, is a sort of sun block or a substance that can block sun’s rays. In face serum solutions you might find it as an SPF factor or some moisturizing blocker. The moment you get to the age of 30 you need to maintain your skin’s moisture before it’s too late. Needless to say, you know that as we age, the biggest problems that happen are from facial lines and also wrinkles as our skin is impaired. Face serum solutions, whilst normally made for the face, may also sooth other problem areas of your body. Remember this when you decide on the final product that satisfies your skin’s needs.

Really Quiet Television Advertising – It’s the Law Now

Friday, April 16th, 2010

It’s the thing about loud television advertising; everyone always knew it was there, but since there was never any official recognition of it, people always have suspected that it might just be their imagination. You probably never thought it would come to this, but there it is. Not only have they officially recognized it beyond denial, they just passed a law against it. They call the law, the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation act, or CALM for short. Commercials are never literally louder than the program; they are just a electronically processed to sound that way.
If you’ve ever been on a band or ever worked at a radio station, you know all about the piece of equipment called the compressor/limiter. Every guitarist and vocalist uses one of these, to make the instrument or the voice stand out in a mix. Compressors take the sound waves that make up your voice, and basically turn up only the lowest sounds, so that they are closer in volume to the highest sounds. Nothing ever gets higher than the highest sound, it’s just that when everything is as loud as the original loud peak, it seems to hit us a lot harder. But that is really beside the point. What one wants to know is, why do the advertisers even want to make television advertising twice as loud? Do they really think that they can drum their message deeper into your head if it’s louder?

Actually, it’s not just the money-mad businessmen who think that way. Musicians, with a new record to pitch on radio, routinely spend a lot of money on the mastering process, trying to get their songs to sound louder than the other songs. The more money they spend, the more esoteric the processes they get to use to get a leg up on the other songs. The thinking is, the louder the song is than the other songs, the more you’ll pay attention to it, and maybe buy it. Does this kind of thinking work at all that all these people should be putting in good money into the process? Those television advertising people and business people don’t spend a dime without thoroughly analyzing every move like it was high science – with focus groups and the opinion of a supercomputer.

Well, think of it this way. You may not necessarily think that loudness sells anything; but you do know that if you are quieter and less audible, you might sell less. It’s just an arms race, trying to keep up with everyone else. Before CALM, the Advanced Television Systems Committee tried to bring a little sense to the proceedings, by putting out a covenant of practices. They point to the way TiVo owners skip ads. It’s usually the local ads, the ones for local gas stations and supermarkets that get skipped the most. They say that regional advertising is usually done on a budget, and the local yokel advertising companies feel that louder is always better. Either way, TiVo is a big problem now for all television advertising; close to three-quarters of all TiVo owners skip all ads, regional and unsophisticatedly loud, or national and sophisticatedly quiet.

Television advertising is going to have to pull itself together, if it is not completely alienate what few fans it might have left now.

Why I quit social media and now make a LOT more money ?

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

You know, it’s kind of funny.

Back in a day, Social Media and Web 2.0 was the technology of the time that helped me stamp my mark in the internet marketing world as a Guru
and trainer to the industry…

And it definitely made me a LOT of money.

Now fast-forward to late March 2010.

I no longer do any kind of social media whatsoever.

* Stopped hanging-out on YouTube altogether.

* Haven’t actively updated my status on Twitter

* Barely log-into my Facebook account maybe once
every couple of weeks.

* And I haven’t done live webinars in over 6-months.

Yet, the weird thing is…

Even though I quit social media,

I’m now making more money today than I was even back then.

(Go figure right?)

I mean… it’s totally backwards than what most people would think.

And to top it off, my quality of life has even dramatically improved as well.

(This is something I struggled with for years and years and year because I just didn’t have the time because I was so darn focused and committed
to my business… some would even call me obsessed! :)

* I spend more time with my family, my friends, my nephews, and my nieces.
* I even got back in touch with my spiritual side
once again as well.

I can’t really explain it.

All I know is that… the moment I quit spending so much dang time on Social Media and began to just focus on the things that really matter most to my business…

That’s when the profits just began to pour-in totally unexpected…ReadMore

How Long Does Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Last?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Filing for bankruptcy is an emotionally wrenching experience for most people. Nevertheless, for people in dire financial straits, it may be the only way that they can save their home and other assets.

Chapter 13 bankruptcy explained

Simply put, Chapter 13 is the bankruptcy law that gives an individual three to five years to pay off their debts, with reduced payments. In return for this lenient payment plan, the courts allow the person to keep his assets. When you file Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you wash your hands of all debt, and do not pay any of it back.

Chapter 13 requires that you repay all of your debts, but under much more favorable circumstances than you currently are paying. Chapter 13 has a number of advantages over Chapter 7 filing. One of the main advantages, especially for homeowners, is that it gives them a good chance to save their own home.
