Most people realise that to be successful in an endeavor, a certain amount of effort is necessary. But what a lot of people fail to realise is that for self employed jobs, a bigger than normal effort is required. This is because when you are self employed, you have to do everything yourself, and for anyone starting up, this can be considerable.
So time is essentially the enemy, as there are only so many hours in a day that you can work, and if you want to accomplish everything you set out to achieve, time management of some sort is essential.
One of easiest and most effective methods of managing your time is to compile a list of the most essential tasks that you need to do every day, to move you closer to your goal. These should be listed in order of priority. Every day, start at the start with the very first item on the list, and don’t move onto item two until you have completed the first task. Then complete the second most essential task needing to be done, and after that move onto the next on the list. And so on. At the end of every day, mark off the tasks that were completed, and compile a new list of the most essential tasks you need to do tomorrow, to get you closer to achieving your objective.
By following this method, you will avoid wasting time by doing stuff that is unimportant in the overall scheme of things. The kinda stuff that we all like to do, in an effort to avoid doing the stuff that we know we should be doing.
Since l started using this method many years ago, l found my productivity increased dramatically, as did also the results of what l was doing, because my focus was more on doing the essentials. Every day.
Another secret to success for anyone in self employed jobs, is having self belief and determination. There is no doubt that working for yourself can entail periods of despondency when disappointments happen, when things don’t work out as hoped, or you don’t seem to be making much headway. It’s only by being positive and determined when disappointment happens, that will help to motivate you onwards. Remember, that it’s also through failure that we learn, and whilst we don’t want or expect it, it’s part of the process on the road to success. Accept it when it happens, but don’t let it deter you. More importantly, learn from it.
If you applied these two principles to any endeavour, and in particular for self employed jobs, your chances of success are are virtually ensured
