I Saved My Home By Knowing How Much Time I Had
When my husband passed away, I wasn’t used to managing the money. I was busy taking care of our two young children and handling the medical bills and estate issues to notice that the automatic mortgage payment had stopped going through. When I received the notice of default, I panicked and started packing our belongings.
Fortunately, my friend sent me a timeline that showed how much time I had to save my home. That little bit of information gave me the courage to contact the bank. They understood the situation and told me how to rectify it. They also clarified the future balance due and arranged for automatic payments. As soon as the larger life insurance policy pays out I’ll probably pay off the house so that we never have to worry about losing it again. My children have already lost too much.
