Improving Our Trade Show Performance
Our last trade show was considered successful, but I knew better. We didn’t have half as many customers stop by as last year, and I barely had any good contact info to work with. Between our fancy banner stands and our marketing campaign, I think we might have actually broken even! Not good. When I got back, I did a lot of research to see why people hadn’t stopped at our booth. I found this article called, “Trade Show Display Lighting Hints and Tips†and realized that I didn’t have any good lighting at all. Then I thought back to our competition and realized that most of their booths had something different and enticing about them… the lighting! They were all lit dramatically, subtly, and well. Ours was lit by the overhead fluorescents. Again, not good. Next year, I know that we will do things a lot differently. Most importantly, we will be bringing our own lighting.
