Changing for Today’s Manufacturing World

When I first opened my manufacturing business, we did well. Money was good and my employees were happy. We had all new equipment and we were state-of-the-art. However, over the years that has changed. We no longer get jobs; usually India or China gets them instead. Most of the other manufacturing shops have switched to automated machines, and I can understand why. Our hydraulic shears are old and need to be replaced, and the switch to automated does seem beneficial. But it will require me to lay off good men with families. I recently read the article, “Competition in Manufacturing Processes” and learned that I’m not the only one needing to change a few things in order to survive today’s world market. Read this article if you are unsure how to process with your own manufacturing business.
