Business Intelligence Solution Recommendation
June 9th, 2008I work in the Business Intelligence industry and specialize in reporting with Crystal and Actuate reports. Both products are great, but if I had to recommend one over the other, I would give Actuate a few higher points than Crystal. Both have similar interfaces and require the same amount of effort and time to develop a report. From my experience, Actuate reports have been easier to maintain over time as Actuate does a better job of supporting libraries and components. Additionally, migrate from one product to the other is a lot easier with Actuate. In conclusion, I would choose Actuate over Crystal.
