You will need the hearing device to work properly or you will just end up more and more frusterated.

The most important thing to remember is that if you start to experience feedback, visit your audiologist ASAP. Do not try to pick your best hearing aid apart in the hopes that you do a little DO-It-Yourself magic and save a few bucks off repairs, since you just might end up destroying a pretty expensive piece of equipment if you try to troubleshoot your feedback problems on your own.
