Kansas City Advertising
June 19th, 2007I work in a Kansas City advertising agency, and have for the past 3 years. I do not consider it selling out, like you might think. You see, when I got into Kansas City advertising, I was not compromising a dream, so much as grasping on to the most realistic and easily achieved part of it. I had always loved to do creative work, but had never understood how to do it while still making enough money to support the standard of living that I truly desired. My Kansas City advertising job allowed me to do all of that. Although I am not allowed to really express my own ideas about society and how it is being destroyed by the marketing of false desires by massive, evil corporations, I am allowed to use my aesthetic ideas in the service of clients, those same big evil corporations. I tell you, life does not get much better than this.
