Michael Cherney - Not London Court
December 4th, 2007Michael Cherney of the Michael Cherney Foundation is trying to get a multi billion dollars settlement from Oleg Deripaska, the owner of Rusal the Russian aluminium giant.
Michael Cherney is trying to get the case heard in the High Court of London - because he believes that senior Russian politicians are against him, and he will not see a fair trial in Moscow.
But first Michael Cherney has got to get the case heard - easier said than done as this case has nothing to do with England.
The judge will probably reject the case as Michael Cherney is a Russian businessman who lives in Israel, Oleg Deripaska is a Russian businessman who lives in Russia, and Rusal is a Russian company.
In order for Michael Cherney to get his case heard in a London court, his legal team has got to convince the London judge that the case belongs in London’s High court.
